Little House on the Prairie is a children’s book by Laura Ingalls Wilder, and edited by her daughter Rose Wilder Lane. The book was published in 1935. It is considered historical fiction. It is part of a series of books known collectively as the Little House series. The books in the series are:

From 1974 – 1983, a television series based on the Little House on the Pairie aired on NBC. The main cast included:

Melissa Gilbert as Laura Ingalls
Melissa Sue Anderson as Mary Ingalls
Twins Lindsay and Sidney Greenbush played Carrie Ingalls.
